Government of Canada Congratulates Esk'etemc First Nation on the Completion of Upgraded Water System Français
VANCOUVER, April 26, 2016 /CNW/ - The Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, Carolyn Bennett, today congratulated the Esk'etemc First Nation on the completion of its new water treatment and distribution system. The new system provides clean drinking water to the First Nation, servicing 118 homes, the community Band Office, school, fire hall, church, and health centre. In addition, the new system has resulted in the removal of the boil water advisory that has been in place since 2004.
In 2015, the Government of Canada invested $5.17 million to support the Esk'etemc water treatment and distribution system.
