WINNIPEG, April 25, 2014 /CNW/ - The Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, today announced support to help community organizations reduce and prevent sexual violence against women and girls in Manitoba.
Klinic Inc. of Winnipeg is receiving funding to work with rural and northern community service providers and stakeholders who have contact with women and girls who are victims of sexual violence. The project will support the development of better coordinated responses for these victims. It will also support establishment of a provincial network of service providers in the area of sexual assault, to increase collaboration and improve coordination of services to victims.
This project was selected through the Government of Canada's call for proposals entitled Cyber and Sexual Violence: Helping Communities Respond.
