Revitalizing Federal Properties Across Canada
SHAWINIGAN, QC, April 18, 2017 /CNW/ - Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is committed to the sound management of its real estate portfolio.
On behalf of the Government of Canada, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of International Trade and Member of Parliament for Saint-Maurice–Champlain, and the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Minister of National Revenue, today announced renovation projects for the Tax Centre building in the city of Shawinigan. The building hosts, as its main tenant, the Canada Revenue Agency.
This work is required to maintain this Crown-owned asset built in 1978 and to reduce energy consumption. Over the next three years, PSPC will undertake major ceiling and lighting retrofits, as well as repair work in the parking lot. It is anticipated that contract opportunities will be worth approximately $12 million.
As custodian of the Tax Centre building, PSPC will continue to provide safe and productive work environments for the building tenants, including upgrades to heating and electrical systems.
