Closing Toronto centre, adding equivalent number of jobs in Ottawa and Edmonton
TORONTO, Nov. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - Grand & Toy today announced today that it is consolidating its customer care centre operations. The Toronto customer care centre will close on December 31st. At the same time an equivalent number of positions will be added to the Edmonton and Ottawa operations.
Grand & Toy is in the process of hiring for positions at the two locations, with a goal of adding roughly 30 associates in Ottawa and about 20 in Edmonton by year's end.
"The decision to close the Toronto customer care centre and relocate the positions to Ottawa and Edmonton was not taken lightly and we are sorry for the impact this will have on those employees affected," said Jeff Hayward, General Manager, Marketing, Grand & Toy.
The company is relocating the work from Toronto's customer care centre to the ones in Edmonton and Ottawa to consolidate existing expertise, resources, and technology ensuring customers receive a consistent and high quality experience.
