Annual fundraiser supports role modeling for kids through the Boston Pizza Foundation
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 13, 2018 /CNW/ - Valentine's Day has always been a special holiday for Boston Pizza, and this year is no different. On Wednesday, February 14th, for one day only, Canadians can enjoy one of Boston Pizza's famous heart-shaped pizzas. One dollar from any pizza sold will go towards the Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects (BPFFP), a charity that ensures kids have access to positive role models in their communities, to help support, guide and empower them. When Guests donate an additional $2 to BPFFP, they'll also receive a Boston Pizza Paper Heart with a "$5 off" coupon for their next online order of $25 or more. New this year, donations can also be made online, and customized digital hearts will be featured on Boston Pizza's Wall of Hearts. Thanks to these donations, Boston Pizza Foundation is helping provide kids more than 200,000 hours with role models every year.
"Valentine's Day at Boston Pizza brings a tradition of heart-shaped pizzas that dates back to 1980. Whether you want to enjoy your pizza in a Boston Pizza restaurant or at home, Boston Pizza is bringing the tradition to you and your family, friends or that special someone," says Donna Finelli, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Boston Pizza International. "To date, Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects has raised and donated more than $24 million to charity partners across Canada, which provide much-needed role modeling support to children."
In addition to the paper hearts and heart-shaped pizzas, Boston Pizza has also launched a new contest to celebrate the love that's found all year-round at its restaurants from coast to coast. The contest, called #BPpizzalovers, ran from January 29 until February 12 on Boston Pizza's social media channels, and received hundreds of submissions from Guests. Participants were asked to share a photo of themselves and a loved one, along with a short story involving Boston Pizza with the hashtag #BPpizzalovers. Four lucky winners will receive the ultimate date night at Boston Pizza and fifty runner-ups will also receive $10 meal vouchers. To get a preview of some of the love story submissions, search the contest hashtag #BPpizzalovers on Twitter and Facebook.
On Valentine's Day, Boston Pizza will also be releasing a fun #BPpizzalovers video on its Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, showcasing some of the amazing love stories that have taken place at its restaurants over the years.
