IKEA Canada serves up a third year of partnership with Breakfast Club of Canada to help nourish children's potential nationwide Français
For each breakfast sold at IKEA Canada through the month of November, $1 will be donated to Breakfast Club of Canada
BURLINGTON, ON, Nov. 1, 2018 /CNW/ - IKEA Canada is excited to mark its third year of partnership with Breakfast Club of Canada, supporting childhood development by providing school children with a daily breakfast. This November, IKEA will once again donate $1 for every breakfast sold at IKEA restaurants across Canada, up to a maximum of $150,000.
"At IKEA, we believe children are the most important people in the world and should start the day well nourished, with a mind full of curiosity to play and learn," said Brendan Seale, Sustainability Manager, IKEA Canada. "Partnering with Breakfast Club of Canada enables us to make a positive change in the local communities we operate in, ensuring many more children have a healthy start to the day."
The ongoing partnership between IKEA Canada and Breakfast Club of Canada helps operate existing school breakfast programs, while also helping to establish new programs in areas of need including First Nations communities. Co-workers can support their local Breakfast Club through IKEA by volunteering to serve breakfast at local schools or by packing breakfast bags for delivery to nearby schools.
"We are privileged at the Breakfast Club of Canada to have amazing partners such as IKEA Canada, who go the extra mile to truly make a difference in children's lives," said Daniel Germain, Founding President, Breakfast Club of Canada. "IKEA inspires and mobilizes its employees to be a part of its implication with Breakfast Club of Canada and always try and find new ways to nourish kids and their potential."
Since partnering with Breakfast Club of Canada, IKEA Canada has donated approximately $250,000 in food, home furnishings and financial contributions. To date, IKEA Canada has helped feed more than 40,000 children, packed over 8,000 breakfast bags and engaged approximately 1,800 co-workers to volunteer.
