The company's management present their condolences to the families affected
SHERBROOKE, QC, Nov. 8, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Following the news of the death of two of its employees as a result of the incident that occurred this afternoon at their facilities in Sherbrooke, Neptune Technologies & Bioressources' management wishes to extend their most sincere condolences to the victims' families and friends.
"We are shocked and stunned by this afternoon's event. Our thoughts are with the families affected," said Mr. Michel Chartrand, Chief Operating Officer, Neptune Technologies & Bioressources. "Our thoughts are also with all those who were injured as a result of this incident and we sincerely hope that they recover."
In collaboration with the public health authorities, the City of Sherbrooke Police Department as well as with the Fire and Emergency services, the company is doing everything it can to understand what happened. With the help of the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CSST), Neptune Technologies & Bioressources is providing their employees with counselling services to ensure that they have access to appropriate support under these circumstances.
"As soon as we were notified of the situation, we made our way to Sherbrooke. Upon our arrival, we began working with emergency services to understand what caused this incident. We will continue to closely collaborate with them for as long as it is necessary. We want to understand what happened," concluded Mr. Chartrand.
