Quotes
"The Kamloops Airport is an important gateway for residents and businesses in this region. This work will ensure continued safe and efficient operation of the Airport, while contributing to the economic and social well-being of the local community."
Cathy McLeod
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health and for Western Economic Diversification and Member of Parliament for Kamloops—Thompson—Cariboo
"The City of Kamloops appreciates the huge level of support Transport Canada has shown the Kamloops Airport. The runway rehabilitation project is a significant capital project that would have been difficult to complete without its contribution. This funding means that airport improvement fees will not increase, allowing the airport to keep costs down for travellers."
Peter Milobar
Mayor of Kamloops
"The Kamloops Airport Authority Society is delighted to receive 55 percent funding from the federal government to assist in funding this critical improvement to our runway infrastructure. The remaining 45 percent will be funded through our capital reserve. Our Airport Improvement Fee of $10 per departing passenger is among the lowest in Canada, however, increased passenger volumes have allowed us to fund our contribution to this important project."
Ken Christian
President, Kamloops Airport Authority Society
