LONGUEUIL, QC, July 29, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) announces that in order to carry out painting work on the steel section located above the St. Lawrence Seaway, the Jacques Cartier Bridge will be partially closed during the weekends of August 8-9 and August 22-23 from Friday, 11 p.m. to Monday, 5 a.m. During this period, three out of five lanes will be open, with one lane in each direction. Traffic could be heavy and users are encouraged to avoid this sector.
These closures will ensure the safety of users and workers during the critical phase of painting the steel section located directly above the traffic lanes.

Repair of the sidewalk (eastern side)
The sidewalk on the Jacques Cartier Bridge located between Montreal and Île Ste-Hélène (eastern side) will undergo major repairs and will be closed from August 2 to August 31, 2015.
The sidewalk between Île Ste-Hélène and the South Shore is currently closed in order to carry out painting on the steel section located above the St. Lawrence Seaway. It will remain closed until mid-September in order to also carry out major repairs.
To cross the bridge, users can use the multifunctional lane located on the western side.
