Jewish community stands with Christians and other minorities persecuted by the Islamic State Français
MONTREAL, August 24, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - While the Islamic State jihadists continue to compound their atrocities in Syria and Iraq, the Quebec Jewish community expresses its solidarity with all ethno-religious minorities persecuted by Islamic sectarianism in the Middle East.
Today the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs joins the Middle Eastern Churches of Canada and all people of conscience, to stand in solidarity with the Christians of the Middle East and all other victims of the unrelenting brutality of the Islamic State.
Like all jihadist organizations, the Islamic state is conducting a merciless war against all moderate elements in the region and beyond. International opposition to this global threat must transcend religious, ethnic and national barriers. We call upon our fellow Quebecers to join in today's march to stand against barbarism and reaffirm their support for democracy and civilization.
