Staples Canada Officially Kicks Off Back-to-School Campaign
RICHMOND HILL, ON, July 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Staples Canada is going full tilt with this year's back-to-school advertising campaign spanning both traditional advertising and online channels that enable consumers to share their back-to-school stories. Canada's largest office products company is rolling out amazing savings throughout the back-to-school season with countless school supplies at incredible value, ensuring that students have what they need for a successful school year.
A concept that parents know all too well, students "just can't get enough" school supplies -- the central message in Staples' ad campaign, previewed earlier this week (pictured). "Featuring the iconic 80s tune 'Just Can't Get Enough', the ad takes a whimsical look at how students go through school supplies - always needing to stock up on more," says Sandy Salmon, Director of Advertising for Staples Canada. The ad highlights how Staples' guaranteed savings help ensure that students never run out of supplies. The campaign consists of a variety of television spots including :30 and :15 second versions showcasing savings. The campaign will begin airing nationally starting July 30.
Staples is launching a four-week radio campaign aimed at mothers. The campaign will also leverage the "Just Can't Get Enough" theme, while advertising some of the amazing back-to-school deals. In addition, this year's ad campaign will feature a public service announcement to create awareness for Staples' community initiatives, most notably the 7th annual School Supply Drive. Over the past six years, the campaign has raised more than $5,000,000 for students in need of classroom essentials. This year's campaign kicks off July 29 and is set to run until September 9. More information on the School Supply Drive can be found at http://www.staples.ca/community.
An Easy BTS Contest
Finally, building the perfect backpack is easy. Fans of the Staples Canada Facebook page will get a chance to electronically create their ideal backpack and win school supplies prize packs when the "Build Your Backpack" Facebook app launches later this month. Students will be encouraged to share both their creativity and their wishlists through the app, which will allow users to familiarize themselves with the products they desire prior to their back-to-school shopping. The app will go live on the Staples Canada Facebook page on August 1st.
