OTTAWA, April 28, 2016 /CNW/ - Two years ago, in an effort to generate greater awareness about prostate cancer, The Royal Canadian Legion launched a national partnership with the Ride for Dad organization.
"We are grateful that, through our Legion Riders program, we are able to participate in this important annual Ride for Dad event once again," says Dominion President of The Royal Canadian Legion, Tom Eagles. "I encourage all of our Legion members to support this effort either with donations or by taking part in the Ride for Dad events, or both as they unfold all across the country, in the coming weeks," adds Eagles.
The goals of this national partnership are threefold:
(1) to reach out to Veterans and men across Canada and ensure they have access to the information and resources available to them related to prostate cancer;
(2) to recruit Canadians who would not otherwise be familiar with the Legion and its involvement in the community; and
(3) to expand volunteer opportunities for those who wish to help the fight against prostate cancer.
