LAVAL, QC, June 5, 2014 /CNW/ - Lumen, Quebec's premier distributor of electrical products, has officially announced that it is investing $100M to set up its new headquarters and distribution centre in Laval. A 385,000 sq. ft. LEED building will be built on a site that covers nearly one million square feet. The Mayor of Laval, Mr. Marc Demers, the President of Lumen, Mr. Serge Leblanc, the President of Sonepar Canada, Mr. François Anquetil and Laval Technopole's Vice-President, Investment and Real Estate Development, Mr. Gilbert LeBlanc, were present at the announcement. The company is bringing along 260 employees.
Lumen will begin construction of the infrastructure and building as early as June 2014 with the Loracon Cosoltec Consortium. The work is expected to be completed in April 2015.
