Make This a Season of #WarmWishes! Tim Hortons® Annual Campaign Returns, Encouraging Everyday Acts of Kindness in Support of Local Youth Français
Spread #WarmWishes and cheer through good deeds this holiday season. Tim Hortons is encouraging Guests to give back in-restaurant and online in support of the Tim Horton Children's Foundation.
OAKVILLE, ON, Nov. 27, 2017 /CNW/ - Tim Hortons is encouraging Canadians to get into the spirit of giving with the return of its annual #WarmWishes campaign. Through small everyday acts of kindness, Guests can spread warmth and goodwill from coast-to-coast in their communities in support of the Tim Horton Children's Foundation (THCF).
Beginning today, Guests can sign a snowflake for $1 at their local Tim Hortons to support the Tim Horton Children's Foundation, and help make a true difference in lives of local youth. Restaurants across the country will be transformed into winter wonderlands with windows covered in paper snowflakes, representing donations from Guests. All proceeds will go directly to the Foundation to help provide youth from low-income families with the opportunity to build important skills through life-changing camp experiences.
"At Tim Hortons, we proudly support our communities across the country and through the programs offered by the THCF we're able to make a true difference by helping kids build brighter futures," said Sami Siddiqui, President, Tim Hortons Canada. "We're excited for this year's #WarmWishes campaign in support of the THCF and look forward to witnessing the continued generosity of our Guests and Restaurant Owners as we work together to benefit youth in our communities."
Whether it's shoveling a neighbour's driveway or buying a stranger's coffee at the drive thru, Guests across the country are also invited to show how they're paying it forward this holiday season on Twitter and Instagram using #WarmWishes and tagging @timhortons. Every time the #WarmWishes hashtag is shared, Tims will donate $1 to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation, up to a maximum of $10,000.
"What better way to spread holiday cheer than by giving local kids the gift of a brighter future," said Dave Newnham, President and Executive Director, Tim Horton Children's Foundation. "The camp experience truly has a life-changing impact. Our programs teach kids how to be resourceful, responsible and empowered individuals within their communities, and allow them to discover their full potential."
This past month, Grade 7 and 8 students at Henry Munro Middle School in Ottawa volunteered their time in support of a local mission as part of the THCF Community Leaders Program. This program invites students to visit camp as a class during the school year to learn important life skills and return to their communities inspired to make a difference. To say 'thank you' to the students for spreading goodwill in their community, Tim Hortons Restaurant Owners shared #WarmWishes by surprising the school with extra supplies for the mission and a long-overdue library makeover! Guests can visit www.TimHortons.com/WarmWishes to watch and share this holiday surprise.
By the end of 2017, more than 250,000 youth will have attended camp. Earlier this year, Guests and Restaurant Owners raised a record-breaking $13.7 million through the annual Camp Day campaign, and #WarmWishes is another way to keep this support going strong.
