LAMBTON COUNTY, ON, Oct. 15, 2012 /CNW/ - The Sarnia Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police conducted marihuana eradication in Lambton County over the last month. The RCMP was able to locate, seize and destroy approximately 300 marihuana plants with the assistance of information received from the public.
The RCMP's goal is to ensure safe homes and safe communities for Canadians. Marihuana use, and the criminality that surrounds it, does harm individuals and communities. Illegal grow operations have been linked to organized crime and violence. They are a threat to the communities we serve.
Marihuana eradication is undertaken annually in law enforcement's ongoing efforts of reducing the availability of this drug within our communities.
Anyone with any information regarding Marihuana Grow Operations or any other illegal activity is asked to contact the Sarnia RCMP at (519) 337-7543 or 1-800-387-0020. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
