Leading off-price retailer set to bring big brand names to more consumers across the country
TORONTO, March 20, 2013 /CNW/ - Leading off-price retailer, Marshalls will expand its footprint across Canada this year with 13 new stores opening from Vancouver to Montreal, offering its wide selection of big brand fashions, accessories and boxed footwear for the entire family at well below department store prices.
Marshalls stores feature a fresh, contemporary design with a bright, easy-to-shop layout. In addition to apparel and accessories for the whole family, every Marshalls boasts a huge selection of more than 8,000 pairs of designer and brand name boxed footwear. At 55,000 square feet, the new Toronto flagship store at Yonge & Gerrard is the largest Marshalls store in Canada. It will offer a unique store design for downtown customers and will be Canada's very first Marshalls to feature a home décor department. As of August 2013, all Marshalls stores will offer home and décor along with apparel and accessories.
"With over a dozen locations across Ontario, we know that Canadians appreciate the Marshalls value offering of incredible designer and brand name fashions at affordable prices," says Tamara Robbins Griffith, Marshalls Canada spokesperson. "With the launch of 13 new locations across the country this year, were thrilled to be bringing even more Canadians the style and savings they desire."
On April 4, Marshalls will unveil seven new stores, including the brand's first ever locations in Manitoba and British Columbia, and a new Toronto flagship store at Yonge & Gerrard. An additional five stores will open this summer including locations that will bring the retailer to Quebec and Alberta for the first time.

The ongoing partnership with Kids Help Phone is a natural fit for the brand, Robbins Griffith explains. "Supporting kids and families in the neighborhoods where our stores are located and fostering a sense of community is integral to Marshalls' business."
The Marshalls Difference
At Marshalls, the customer never has to wait for a sale, because the merchandise is priced well below department store and boutique prices, every day.
Marshalls buyers have relationships with more than 14,000 vendors in over 60 countries around the world, including some of the world's top designers. Unlike department stores, Marshalls' off-price model means there are no stringent guidelines on how many items buyers can purchase; as a result, Marshalls stores buy much closer to the fashion season, which enables them to be smarter about trends and negotiate much better prices.
