Insurance Bureau of Canada will show you what they are
TORONTO, June 11, 2012 /CNW/ - Vehicle fraud is big business - costing Canadians millions of dollars each and every year. Fraudsters are getting very creative to get around the system and police and the insurance industry are working together to stay steps ahead of them. Do you even know what to look for to see if you have been the victim of fraud?
On June 14 in Dieppe, New Brunswick, Insurance Bureau of Canada will host an event called "Red Flags at the Roadside" - a second annual training session to help law enforcement officials identify incidents of motor vehicle theft and fraud.
Join IBC Investigator Guy Ouellette, Atlantic Canada Regional VP Bill Adams and law enforcement representatives to see first hand how some of these frauds are taking place and what to look for to ensure you are not a victim.
Guy will give a unique investigator's perspective on what "red flags" to look for on a demonstration car we will have on site at the event. We'll also explain why this training is necessary, who's attending, and what the police and insurance industry are doing to fight this fraud.
This session is part of the industry and law enforcement's PATNET (Provincial Auto Theft Network; a growing core of New Brunswick law enforcement officials who have received specialized training in the identification of motor vehicles that have been stolen or otherwise impacted though fraudulent activities).
