OTTAWA, July 19, 2013 /CNW/ - Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) is advising the media that it is holding its Annual General Meeting at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto (Ontario), on July 23 and 24, 2013.
The meeting starts at 1 pm on July 23. DFC President Wally Smith will speak and there will be updates on marketing activities. On July 24, under the theme "We Are Dairy Farmers", the guest speakers will talk about the importance of branding.

The Power of Branding - Terry O'Reilly, Pirate Radio & Television - M. O'Reilly is a writer and director and spent 10 years as a copywriter at several of the most creative advertising agencies in Canada. Marketing Magazine named him one of Canada's "Most Influential" marketing people.
The Demand for Things Canadian and Local - Tony Johnstone, DDB Canada - Senior Vice-President, Director of Strategic Planning, Mr. Johnstone works with various clients (food, cars, financial services, milk, etc.). DDB advises DFC on the 100% Canadian Milk branding and cheese promotion.
Leveraging Farmers' Values - Tom Hoogendoorn, DFC Board member and dairy farmer from British Columbia.
Starting at 11 a.m., DFC and DeLaval Canada will reveal the identity of the 2013 winners of the Dairy Farm Sustainability Award.
A symposium on dairy research will follow on July 25th.
