Media Advisory - In Response to Increased Cost of Living, Students in Miramichi Launch Passion Project to Help Assist Lower Income Students Attend Prom
MIRAMICHI, NB, Dec. 1, 2023 /CNW/ - Students needing a prom dress for the upcoming year are encouraged to stop by the Once Upon a Prom event taking place at The Wedding Lark on Dec. 3.
With the ever-increasing cost of living, students from James Hill Memorial High School in Miramichi, NB, have launched a passion project to help students find their dream prom dress that they might otherwise be unable to afford. Abby MacDonald, Jamie-Lynn Curtis and Henni Isselhard, grade 11 students, have collected over 80 dresses in various sizes, styles and colours for this FREE event.
In addition, the students will be selling raffle tickets on an ultimate prom experience package, with proceeds being donated to The Salvation Army. The raffle prize includes hair, nails, tanning, make-up, flowers, jewelry, photography, dress alterations, teeth whitening and more.

Those attending are encouraged to purchase tickets, enjoy a day of shopping and trying on dresses, and take home their dream prom dress for free. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to The Salvation Army to give hope to those in need in Miramichi and surrounding communities.
