QUÉBEC, March 8, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - On the second anniversary of the tragic events of the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan, Quebec First Nations, municipalities and citizens unite their voices on the exploration and exploitation of uranium in the province, on Monday, March 8, 2013, at the Delta Hôtel in Quebec City.
Among those present will be Mr. Richard Shecapio, Chief of the Cree Nation of Mistissini, Mr. Ghislain Picard, Chief of the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador, Mr. Philippe Bourke, Director of the Regroupement national des conseils régionaux de l'environnement, Ugo Lapointe, spokesperson for the Coalition Pour que le Québec ait meilleure mine!, Christian Simard, Director of Nature Québec and spokesperson of the mouvement Sortons le Québec du nucléaire, along with other citizens' groups. Mr. Gaëtan Ruest, Mayor of Amqui, will also be present via vidéo-conference.
