MONTREAL, April 25, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Quebec Life Coalition, an organization in Quebec that advocates respect for human life from conception to natural death, supports motion 312, an initiative of MP Stephen Woodworth, because it seeks to put an end to discrimination against unborn children.
The question of motion 312 is "At what point does a fetus become human?" Right now, in Canada, the unborn child has no legal protection. According to section 223 of the Canadian Criminal Code, a child becomes human only at the moment of complete birth.
Agnès Colantuoni, spokesperson of Quebec Life Coalition, says « This is ridiculous. It is evident that a child is human well before birth. The fact that a child can be born at 7, 8, or 9 months demonstrates that a tiny human being really exists in its mother's body throughout pregnancy."
Quebec Life Coalition congratulates Stephen Woodworth for this important initiative, and this organization hopes that motion 312 will spread awareness on the problem of abortion and the irrationality of article 223 of the Canadian Criminal Code.
