OTTAWA, Dec. 14, 2017 /CNW/ - The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, today released the following statement concerning an accident involving a Hydro One Networks Inc. aircraft which tragically claimed the lives of four individuals in the area of Tweed, Ontario:
"On behalf of the Government of Canada, I would like to express my sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic accident. I would also like to communicate our appreciation for the efforts of local first responders.
"Transport Canada will cooperate fully with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada's investigation into this accident. The department is appointing a Minister's Observer who will keep me informed of the investigation's progress.
"Transport Canada takes all aviation accidents seriously and we will take the action necessary to maintain the safety of Canada's air sector."
