OTTAWA, Nov. 9, 2012 /CNW/ - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, will visit China from November 11-13, 2012.
During his visit, Minister Lebel will promote Canada's global leadership in civil aviation and open new opportunities for Canadian businesses through strengthened transport and trade relations.
"Canada builds its relationships on a foundation of cooperation and partnership," said Minister Lebel. "Transportation moves trade. The Harper Government will continue to work closely with our partners in Asia to keep people and goods moving efficiently, to ensure competitiveness, and to encourage long-term economic growth."
Minister Lebel will arrive in Hong Kong, China, in time for the Remembrance Day Ceremony where he will honor the courage and sacrifice of those who lost their lives during the Second World War. He will also hold a series of meetings with key members of the Hong Kong business community, prior to travelling to Zhuhai, China to participate in Airshow China. His trip will support job creation in the Canadian aerospace sector, and strengthen bilateral cooperation on air safety.
