Minister Raitt commends Porter and service representatives union on reaching an inaugural collective agreement Français
OTTAWA, June 26, 2013 /CNW/ - The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, applauded Porter FBO Limited and the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union, Local 343, on ratifying their first collective agreement.
"I am pleased that Porter and the union worked together and reached a collective agreement," said Minister Raitt. "Strong labour-management relations contribute to the economic prosperity of all Canadians."
Certified by the Canada Industrial Relations Board on July 17, 2012, the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union represents 24 employees working as customer, line and hand-line service representatives at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service provides dispute resolution and prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.
