Unattended payment kiosks ensure fast and secure ticket purchasing
TORONTO, June 8, 2015 /CNW/ - Moneris, one of North America's largest processors of debit and credit card payments, announced today it has certified all unattended self-serve payment kiosks for Union Pearson Express (UP Express). Moneris technology and expertise were integral in completing the necessary compliance certification for the payment industry to ensure all self-serve kiosks were fully operational for the UP Express June 6th opening.
With an anticipated 5,000 passengers per day, customers will be able to purchase UP Express tickets from two self-serve kiosks at Union station, and from five self-serve kiosks at Toronto Pearson Airport. Fare passes can be quickly purchased with VISA®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Interac® cards, using secure Chip and PIN or contactless payment technology.
"We are proud to contribute to this momentous civic project and enable Union Pearson Express passengers to purchase tickets using the payment of their choice," said Jeff Guthrie, Chief Sales & Relationship Officer at Moneris. "The UP project exemplifies remarkable team work that allowed a complex certification to be completed in a short period of time."
Moneris managed the multi-layered certification lifecycle between both Tender Retail, the point-of-sale application that runs the UP Express self-serve kiosks, and Scheidt & Bachmann, the middleware application provider and supervised the development and pre-certification testing. The certification process was done in an accelerated timeframe with seamless co-operation between the card brands and application providers.
"We are very excited to bring a new way to travel to the airport to Toronto residents," says Kathy Haley, President of UP Express. "This project would not have been possible without the commitment of our valued suppliers like Moneris."
