Duo prepares for the opening of its new Quebec operation and has commenced hiring top talent
MONTREAL and TORONTO, Dec. 4, 2014 /CNW/ - David Leonard, national president and chief operating officer of DDB Canada, welcomes Monique Brosseau as vice-president managing director, Etienne Bastien as vice-president creative director and national co-creative lead on Volkswagen, as well as five new hires at DDB Canada Montreal. Brosseau and Bastien will serve critical roles in servicing the Volkswagen Canada business both on a regional and national basis.
As the agency prepares to take on a new role as agency of record for Volkswagen Canada in January of 2015, the current DDB Canada Montreal offering is being restructured to accommodate for expansive growth.
"DDB Canada Montreal's expansion needs in the Quebec marketplace requires us to take that next evolutionary step – to create an autonomous Quebec-based operation, outside of our strategic partnership with Bleublancrouge," says Leonard. "Both Monique and Etienne share our vision for our new Quebec operation and are a perfect fit with DDB's collaborative culture and entrepreneurial spirit."
While Volkswagen Canada and future clients will be serviced from this new standalone operation, existing DDB Canada and Tribal Worldwide clients that are serviced in Quebec will continue to be serviced via the agency's strategic partnership with Bleublancrouge.
Effective in developing creative omni-channel communications and marketing strategies and recognized for her outstanding management and problem-solving skills, Brosseau is a results-driven leader who brings to DDB over 21 years of marketing communications and business development experience. Her holistic approach to the planning process warrants integrated campaign work that takes into account the nature and purpose of all media channels. She most recently served as executive vice-president, general manager at ZenithOptimedia Canada.
Bastien is a strategic creative thinker, who leads by example to motivate and mentor teams to deliver brand-building ideas. His work has been recognized for its creativity and effectiveness at local and international award shows, including a Bronze Film Lion at Cannes for Volkswagen Canada. He has also judged a multitude of award shows and most recently he served on the 2015 CASSIES Awards jury. Prior to DDB Canada Montreal, Bastien was vice president, creative director at TAM-TAM\TBWA.
Joining DDB Canada Montreal next week are: art directors Arnaud Tartier from Bleublancrouge and Arnaud Deneux from Palm+Havas; copywriters Emmanuel Chevallier from Marcel Paris and Ben Duquette from Bleublancrouge; and group account director Jacques Blanchet from JWT.
DDB Canada Montreal will open its doors in January 2015 and is currently recruiting for additional roles in client services, creative, production, strategy and social.
