New CEO appointed for the College Employer Council
TORONTO, July 14, 2015 /CNW/ - The College Employer Council Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of David Brook as CEO, effective September 14, 2015.
Mr. Brook will join the Council from his current role as Director of Labour Relations with the University Health Network in Toronto, where he is responsible for negotiating collective agreements covering thousands of unionized employees working at the Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute.
Mr. Brook also brings experience from senior roles from various ministries within the Ontario Public Service, where he led collective bargaining and benefits/compensation strategy development and implementation on a province-wide basis as the Director, Union/Management Relations. In this role, Mr. Brook was responsible for the conduct of large scale collective bargaining with eight bargaining agents representing over 55,000 employees working across Ontario in diverse functions and ministries within the OPS.
Mr. Brook holds a Master of Laws, Labour and Employment Law from Osgoode Hall, a Master of Industrial Relations from Queen's, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario.

About The College Employer Council
The Council is the bargaining agent for the 24 Ontario colleges in negotiating collective agreements with unionized staff. In addition, the Council provides a variety of services for the college system such as advice on human resource issues, collective agreement administration, benefits administration and research. Each college board determines the terms and conditions of employment for non-unionized staff.
