The modern $27M, 169-room hotel occupies a prime location directly connected to the airport terminal via pedestrian walkway to offer travelers complete ease of access and an ideal accommodation option for any season.

ALT Hotels are an innovative no-frills-chic hotel concept combining modern design and eco-friendly features at the best possible rate. The hotel will have more than 6,775 ft2 of bright meeting space, equipped with 52 inch flat-screen televisions. It will also have creative lounges that were specifically designed to hold brainstorming sessions or more informal meetings. In between meetings or while waiting for a flight, guests can choose to relax in their room, work out in the gym, play a game of billiards in the lounge or even take a dip in the pool. They can also have a hot or cold meal made from a variety of fresh grab-and-go foods at ALTcetera, or contribute to the interactive mural in the hotel lobby.
ALTEXPO: A collective work of art
ALT Hotels held a photo contest via Instagram in order to create a site specific collective work of art for ALT Hotel Halifax Stanfield. More than 90 000 images, inspired by various themes such as travel, abstract, black and white and people, were submitted by participants from all over the world over a month-long period. The final installation, occupying four walls, features thousands of Instagram pictures and includes LCD screens that display the contest photos as well as new photos submitted by hotel guests in real time.
A green hotel
ALT Hotels boast a series of energy-saving features: geothermal heating and cooling; heat recovery from indoor air that is vented outside and from the water used in commercial washers; energy-efficient lighting throughout and motion detection sensors in stairwells to reduce lighting by 50% when not in use; direct digital control system for ventilation, heating and cooling.
