Oral Health Month 2014: The Ordre des dentistes du Québec emphasizes the importance of taking care of your mouth Français
MONTREAL, April 1, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - April is Oral Health Month. The Ordre des dentistes du Québec wants to take the opportunity to remind people of the connections between dental health and general health, and to encourage them to take care of their mouths and teeth.
Parents have an essential role to play in this regard. "Good dental habits start at home," says Dr. Barry Dolman, President of the Order. "It's up to parents to teach their children good habits right from the beginning. That includes brushing their teeth, ideally after every meal, and flossing daily."
Maintaining good dental health also means regular checkups by a dentist, regardless of one's age.
The Order is offering the public a source of quality information on health and oral care with its maboucheensante.com website, a user-friendly portal packed with useful information. The portal, launched last fall, is the centrepiece of the Order's new advertising campaign on television, radio and the Web, in April.
