- Partnering with evenko, Bell will deploy new broadband network to create a technology showcase
LAVAL, QC, Feb. 13, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell announced today that it has obtained the naming rights for the new amphitheatre in the sports and cultural complex in Laval. The venue will now be called Place Bell.
The agreement between Bell and evenko, which is responsible for managing and programming events at the amphitheatre, will enable Bell to offer the public a compelling entertainment experience using the latest fibre-based Bell Fibe technology. It also underlines Bell's commitment to the Laval community alongside evenko, Bell's partner in the Montréal Canadiens, the Bell Centre and the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.
"Bell is Québec's communications leader, and it seemed natural to us that we should work again with evenko to offer the residents of Laval and the northern periphery a sports and entertainment venue featuring the latest broadband technology," said Martine Turcotte, Bell's Vice Chair, Québec. "Place Bell will be equipped with Bell Fibe, able to accommodate events requiring the absolute latest technology and becoming a tech showcase for Laval."
The Fibe network, exclusive to Bell, makes it possible to deploy broadband fibre throughout Place Bell and provide a spectacular experience to fans at sports and entertainment events.
