TORONTO, Dec. 12, 2013 /CNW/ - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) - GTA Serious and Organized Crime Team have charged two Ontario men after an investigation into the importation and trafficking of illicit drugs into the Greater Toronto Area.
As a result of an on-going investigation, on December 11, 2013, members of the RCMP, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and York Regional Police simultaneously executed seven search warrants in York Region, Mississauga and Toronto area. During the search warrants police arrested two men and seized: steroids, hashish, percocet, approximately one kilogram of a suspected controlled substance and a prohibited firearm.

Two (2) individuals face various charges including possession of a restricted weapon, possession for the purposes of trafficking heroin, cocaine and MDMA.
- Kevin YAWORSKI (age 32) of Stouffville, Ontario
- Anthony MARENTIC (age 33) of Mississauga, Ontario
Both YAWORSKI and MARENTIC appeared in Toronto Old City Hall Courthouse on Dec 11, 2013.
"The illicit drug trade and associated criminality that surrounds it harms individuals and makes our communities less safe," stated Inspector Andy White (RCMP GTA Serious and Organized Crime Team). "These arrests and seizures demonstrate our commitment to find those involved in the criminal underworld and bring them before justice."
"This is yet another example of the close working relationship between the CBSA and the RCMP," said Goran Vragovic, Regional Director General, Greater Toronto Area Region of the CBSA. "The CBSA will continue to work alongside its enforcement partners to ensure that organized criminal activities, like these, are stopped in their tracks."
