QUEBEC, Feb. 28, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Nearly one hundred and sixty reservists comprised of the 35 Canadian Brigade Group (35 CBG), the 1st Canadian Ranger Patrol Group (1 CRPG), and the American National Guard will take part in a military training exercise from March 1st to 9th 2014 in the surrounding Iqaluit area of Nunavut.
The military personnel will conduct several types of training that includes itinerary reconnaissance patrols, search and rescue, and the arctic survival techniques.
The exercise will confirm the expertise acquired by the members 35 CBG's Arctic Response Company Group and Domestic Response Company through the support of 1 CRPG. Be advised that twenty snowmobiles will be circulating in the surrounding Iqaluit.
All the necessary measures have been taken in order to minimize the impact on the local population and environment. The military personnel will only be using blank rounds and smoke grenades, no live rounds nor will any other type of pyrotechnics be used during the exercise.
