BROMONT, QC, May 6, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The remaining members of the Board of Directors of COJEM met on Tuesday, May 3, following the resignation of Francois Duffar, the Chairman, and three other Board members last week. During its meeting, the Board agreed to move forward with a quick and thorough analysis of the current status of the FEI World Equestrian GamesTM 2018 (WEG 2018) against the metrics required for the successful delivery of the Games. Once the analysis is finalized in the coming weeks, the Board will issue its recommendations going forward. The Board elected Rosaire Houde, a Board member since the inception of COJEM, as its interim Chairman. The Board also passed a resolution to appoint new directors to fill the vacancies created by the departing Board members. The selection process and appointment of new Board members will commence as soon as possible, and this process will be done in accordance with the bylaws of COJEM.
The Board also appointed Susan Burkman, a resident of Bromont who previously served on the Board, as special advisor to the Board to immediately lead this WEG 2018 analysis. Ms. Burkman has been involved for many years in equestrian sport, and has had a long and successful career in corporate financial affairs. The results of the analysis will enable the Board to define the best and most efficient path forward for WEG 2018.
The Board will work cooperatively with all its partners to ensure the best outcome for the WEG 2018.
