BOWMANVILLE, ON, Sept. 3, 2014 /CNW/ - On August 29th, 2014 - as a result of 9 month long investigation; the RCMP arrested Bentley ROBERTSON - 73 years old and David ROBERTSON - 44 years old (both reside in Toronto, ON) for Importing a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to commit drug related offences.
In December, 2013, the RCMP commenced an investigation into a criminal group. On December 18th, 2013, the RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Wynford Drive in Toronto, ON and identified a cocaine production facility. Police seized approximately 2 kilograms of cocaine and a mechanical press. The ROBERTSON's have been charged in connection to the cocaine seizure. The ROBERTSON's are alleged to have imported cocaine from the Caribbean with the intention of distributing it in the Greater Toronto Area.
Bentley ROBERTSON and David ROBERTSON face the following charges:
- Importing a Controlled Substance, contrary to Sec. 6 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Conspiracy, contrary to Sec. 465 (1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
David ROBERTSON's next court appearance has been set for September 9th, 2014 at Old City Hall in Toronto, ON.
Bentley ROBERTSON's next court appearance has been set for September 18th, 2014 at Old City Hall in Toronto, ON.
