Ricoh's Canadian eDiscovery Group achieves ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management Français
Adoption of updated international standards shows Ricoh Canada's continued practice of placing high emphasis on client satisfaction.
TORONTO, Nov. 6, 2018 /CNW/ - Ricoh Canada, Inc. today announced that its Ricoh eDiscovery division has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification – further emphasizing its commitment to achieving customer satisfaction by providing defensible, transparent and repeatable processes. Ricoh is the only specialized eDiscovery provider in Canada to hold this certification.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a widely respected international standard-setting body. It was established in 1947, and is composed of representatives from various national standards organizations. ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for an organization's quality management system and certifies that system for use in demonstrating reliable quality. This includes a framework for companies to document, review and defend their processes on an ongoing basis, the success of which is measured through customer satisfaction.
Ricoh eDiscovery in Canada, formerly Commonwealth Legal, has been ISO 9001 certified for almost 10 years. Previous iterations of the 9001 standard were largely regarded as a manufacturer's standard, but Ricoh eDiscovery saw the value of certifiably reliable, repeatable and high-quality processes in the eDiscovery space. As a result, the company became the first eDiscovery provider in Canada to achieve its ISO 9001 certification.
"Processing electronic evidence is highly technical. It requires close attention to detail, and without the consistency and defensibility of documented and repeatable processes, results can vary greatly, or even result in the spoliation of evidence," said Jennifer Johnson, Vice President, Legal Services, Ricoh Canada, Inc. "Holding the ISO 9001:2015 certification conveys to our customers and partners that our processes are reliable and effective, and that we drive continuous improvement in direct alignment with customer satisfaction and organizational efficiency."
The multifaceted ISO certification process includes submitting a written assessment of quality management systems, followed by a thorough review from an ISO auditor to verify compliance, score those processes, and ultimately award or deny certification. Updates to the ISO 9001:2015 certification broaden the standard's focus to more explicitly include service organizations and address evolving technologies and workstyles.
