ROSEMÈRE, QC, June 28, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Nick Milas, Chairman of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board accompanied by Alain Paquet, Junior Minister of Finance and member of the National Assembly for the riding of Laval-des-Rapides along with Mr. Eric Westram, (Deputy Mayor) Pro-Maire, Ville de Rosemère announced today a 50%-25%-25% partnership to build a synthetic football-soccer field at Rosemere High School.
This new safer field will be well lit and better suited to the Quebec climate, and will serve the interests of the entire community of Rosemere to permit local youth to move and have fun on a surface of great quality. It will also provide a new home for the Rosemere High School Raiders sports teams and it is sure to improve the quality of life of sports enthusiasts who use it to practice their favorite activities. The region's residents can make use of this new field and take advantage of the summer months to stay active.
"The health and well being of the Rosemère population as well as that of all Quebecers is something that is dear to our hearts. Our government is attentive to the needs of the citizens in this region and is responding to this important element. The support of the government to this project is a concrete step in adopting an active lifestyle not only for our youth but for the entire community enabling it to be active and to stay in good physical condition" declared M. Paquet.
"The City of Rosemère and the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board has a long story of success. More than 15 years ago, we signed a first agreement for the use of their soccer field to benefit our youth. We are proud today to renew our trust in this institution by contributing a maximum of $439,000 that will benefit both our soccer and football associations" said Mr. Westram.

The Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board offers educational services to more than 14,400 students in 38 schools and 5 Adult Education and Vocational Training centres and has a workforce of nearly 2,000 employees.
