QUÉBEC CITY, Feb. 13, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - While in Québec City as a guest speaker for Routes Americas 2019, Nawal Taneja, Executive-In-Residence at Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business, took the opportunity to introduce his most recent book, Re-Platforming the Airline Business. Gaëtan Gagné, President and CEO of Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), wrote a foreword for the book, alongside his counterparts at Denver and Amsterdam airports, to name a few. YQB's vision and development plan are also discussed in the book and serve as an inspiring example in a constantly changing business environment.
Taneja explains in his book that the airport industry is growing rapidly, and that its members—particularly airlines and airports—should not only use a wide range of technologies like artificial intelligence, biometrics and blockchain, but also intelligent engagement platforms that are specifically designed for customers, to meet travellers' mobility needs.
"Mr. Taneja and I agree that our industry has reached a major turning point. This book is an excellent tool for understanding the challenges, threats and opportunities we are facing. During these times of change, we need to remember that passengers are always an airport's primary customer. Technology and world-class service are key to reinforcing our strong relationship with them. YQB's Passenger First® vision has clearly paid off, helping us to stand out internationally," stated Gaëtan Gagné, President and CEO of Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport.
