Convocation ceremony held at International Conference on Residency Education
OTTAWA, Oct. 16, 2012 /CNW/ - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will deliver the keynote address and be inducted as an Honorary Fellow at the 2012 Convocation of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, to be held Friday, October 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Ottawa Convention Centre.
"The Royal College is truly proud to bestow His Excellency with an Honorary Fellowship," says Dr. Andrew Padmos, FRCPC, CEO of the Royal College. "It is a fitting tribute to a long-time educator and supporter of lifelong learning. His Excellency will no doubt encourage, inspire and challenge the graduates with his address."
The Convocation ceremony will take place during the 2012 International Conference on Residency Education (ICRE) from October 18-20. The annual conference attracts more than 1,000 doctors and medical educators from around the world. The theme of this year's ICRE is Milestones in Education: Competencies, Controversies and Challenges.
