MONTREAL, Nov. 9, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Sanofi Canada is proud to announce that it has been named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers by a prestigious annual competition that recognizes the nation's best places to work. The competition is managed by Mediacorp Canada Inc. and the complete listing of top 100 companies is published by the Globe and Mail.
Sanofi Canada was selected from thousands of entrants for its outstanding commitment to its employees, who work at the Laval (Quebec) head office and various other sites across the country. Judges evaluated the company against criteria that included its physical workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
"For Sanofi Canada to achieve this recognition on a national scale, alongside some of Canada's most prestigious companies, is a tremendous honour," said Niven Al-Khoury, President and CEO of Sanofi Canada. "Our employees are the driving force in our quest to offer value, health and hope to Canadians, and our commitment to their well-being is a fundamental part of our corporate culture. This commitment thrives at all levels of the company, including senior leadership, as we provide an engaging environment based on collaboration, openness and a positive mindset."
Sanofi Canada offers a variety of programs, incentives and benefits for its employees, including:
- A recently-revamped employee wellness initiative that includes on-site bicycle facilities, newly-installed treadmill desks, onsite yoga classes and health-oriented food services (including daily fresh fruit deliveries). Beginning in May, the company's employees participated in the 100-day Global Corporate Challenge (GCC) to meet the World Health Organization's (WHO) active lifestyle recommendation of walking 10,000 steps per day.
- A state-of-the-art, LEED-certified head office designed with input from employees to maximize productivity and collaboration. The office, which was inaugurated in 2013, includes employee lounges, a library, collaborative workspaces and "innovation rooms" to stimulate creativity.
- A flexible work environment that includes top-up payments to new mothers and fathers that allow them to receive 100 per cent of their salaries for up to 18 weeks, encouraging quality time with their families. All employees are considered for a variety of financial incentives, ranging from performance bonuses to rewards for referring new hires, as they grow and evolve within the company.
Today's announcement follows the company's designation as one of Montreal's Top Employers in February 2014.
