Share a Coke now includes more than 1,000 names including Calvin, Maddy, Leo and Sebastian
TORONTO, June 25, 2015 /CNW/ - Coca-Cola is celebrating summer in a big way, bringing back one of its most successful Canadian programs of all time. "Share a Coke", the campaign responsible for swapping the iconic Coca-Cola logo with Canada's most popular names on Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero bottles, is back with more than 1,000 of Canada's most popular names, creating even more reasons to share.
For those who can't find their names – or enough of a particular name – in store, Canadians can customize their own mini-can during the 100-day, cross-Canada Share a Coke Tour. The Tour will be visiting events from coast to coast including CIBC Pan Am Park, the Calgary Stampede, Toronto Blue Jays game and Canadian National Exhibition. To kick-off its highly anticipated return, Share a Coke has teamed up with Canadian YouTube sensation, Lilly Singh, aka IISuperwomanII, for her A Trip to Unicorn Island world tour and Toronto stop at the Danforth Music Hall on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
"Coca-Cola has always been about happiness and sharing good times and special moments with family and friends," says Michael Samoszewski, Vice President, Sparkling Business Unit, Coca-Cola Ltd. "Last year we heard so many great stories about how Canadians were coming together to share a Coke and connect with each other, we wanted to come back with even more names and opportunities to create special memories."
This year's Canadian campaign also includes a special, limited-edition release of Cherry Coke, Share a Coke mobile vans, customizable merchandise, and multi-serving bottles featuring titles such as Friends, Family or Coach to share with bigger groups. This year's 1,000 plus names is more than three times the names offered in the campaign's inaugural year, and also includes Chinese characters at select locations. Some of this year's new names include Calvin, Maddy, Leo, Sandy, Brent, Maya, Sebastian, Gary, Tasha, Bryce, Meagan, Keith, Charlotte, Nicolas, Anne, Nate, Kyla, Kylie, Nancy and Dillon. Nearly 25 million Share a Coke bottles will be distributed this summer, in addition to the thousands of personalized cans during the Tour.
The multi-faceted campaign includes a number of consumer touch points, including marketing activations, online paid media, in-store marketing and social media engagement. Consumers can go online to create and share a virtual Coke bottle at shareacoke.ca or visit one of the tour stops across Canada to customize mini-cans or merchandise.
