TORONTO, Aug. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Canadian Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (TSX: XSR), parent of Sirius XM Canada Inc., today announced that the company is preparing for the launch and rollout of SiriusXM 2.0 and "Best Of" programming for subscribers later this year. The company also detailed a new pricing program for its base subscription rate.
"We are excited to introduce expanded features and programming offerings for subscribers later this fall," said Mark Redmond, President and CEO, SiriusXM Canada Inc. "These enhancements represent the next evolution in audio entertainment and together with the availability of Best Of programming from both the Sirius and XM platforms, will provide subscribers with more content, more control and a better listening experience."
In the lead-up to SiriusXM 2.0, the company has launched its redesigned website, www.siriusxm.ca. Closely incorporating social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter, the site now fully integrates and streamlines the presentation of SiriusXM service in preparation for an improved online listening experience and new apps for the iPhone, iPad and Android mobile platforms when SiriusXM 2.0 launches this fall.
"Over the past five years, we have maintained consistent pricing, while continuously expanding our content, improving technologies and adding value to the SiriusXM subscriber experience. Beginning October 1, 2012, the company will increase our basic monthly service package from $14.99 to $15.99 at the time of customer subscription renewal. This modest increase will enable us to continue to innovate and improve the subscriber experience. We remain committed to providing our subscribers with exceptional programming, anytime, anywhere, at a great price," said Redmond.
Additional details of SiriusXM 2.0 features and "Best Of" fall programming enhancements will be available closer to launch.
