Canadians in BC and Alberta can earn points and get rewards when they shop local
VANCOUVER, April. 24, 2014 /CNW/ - From restaurants and coffee shops to dry cleaners and yoga studios, Canadians can now earn points and redeem offers at local small businesses in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. Vicinity, a Rogers Communications company, announced today that it has officially launched in Western Canada, offering consumers access to loyalty and rewards points at numerous small businesses.
"Canadians are devoted customers and they love getting rewards at their favourite, local small businesses. The average Canadian belongs to seven different loyalty rewards programs and shops to accumulate points," said Fiona Lake Waslander, General Manager, Vicinity, Rogers. "Our Western expansion allows us to bring more value and savings to shoppers while offering an easy to implement, customizable loyalty program in over 75 cities across Canada including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Ottawa."
Vicinity gives customers access to a single loyalty card that can be used to redeem offers and collect rewards across the network of participating small business locations. Customers can simply register for a Vicinity rewards loyalty card at any participating local business or online, and track their points through their online rewards profile or on the Vicinity mobile app available on Android and iPhone smartphones.
Small businesses can benefit from a proven, easy-to-use, customizable program to help reach more customers and build loyalty. Businesses using Vicinity can offer a variety of rewards to customers including points to be redeemed for discounts, service and merchandise.
"Vicinity helped us build and manage a rewards program that allows us to connect our customers and bring them value every day," said Wayne Ha, Owner of The Tea Factory and Vicinity customer. "By integrating a loyalty program into our point-of-sale system and tracking our offers and points, we have since improved service for our customers and seen an increase in repeat visits."
Over the past year, Canadians have embraced Vicinity as a local merchant loyalty program and voted it as a Product of the Year Canada. The award is based on how customers view product satisfaction, product innovation, product appeal and intent to purchase. Vicinity is available today at over 500 local small businesses across Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia and Alberta and will roll out to other Canadian cities in the coming months.
