Statement - Government of Canada's response to the 2015 Fall Report of the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development

OTTAWA, Jan. 26, 2016 /CNW/ - The Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, today issued the following statement on behalf of the Government of Canada in response to the tabling of the 2015 Fall Report from the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development.

"I would like to thank Commissioner Gelfand for her dedication as Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development. We welcome her recommendations and we will ensure they are addressed. The Government of Canada is committed to ensuring the health and safety of Canadians and to protecting our environment. This report helps us identify specific areas for improvement.
