Statement - Minister Goodale offers condolences following the death of Officer Thierry Leroux in Lac-Simon, Quebec Français
OTTAWA, Feb. 15, 2016 /CNW/ - The Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, made a statement today to offer condolences on behalf of the Government of Canada following the death of police officer Thierry Leroux in the community of Lac-Simon, on Saturday February 13, 2016.
"I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences and prayers of support to Thierry Leroux's family, and to all those in the community of Lac-Simon and beyond who have been touched by this tragedy. Such painful incidents are a profound reminder of the risks our police officers assume every day in protecting the safety and security of all Canadians.
As a nation, we stand together with the police officers and citizens of Lac-Simon during this difficult time. We are truly grateful for their dedication and sacrifice."
