This is an opportunity to celebrate our linguistic heritage and the important contributions of Quebecers, Acadians and all Francophone communities across the country.
This year, the celebrations are very unique, as they form part of the 12 days of Canada 150 festivities from June 21 to July 2. They include major performances in several cities across the country and numerous regional activities. Outstanding Francophone and Francophile artists are taking to the stage to sing in French. St‑Jean‑Baptiste Day promotes our culture and proves that our Francophonie is more dynamic than ever.
On this important day, I invite Canadians to let the French language shine all across the country, and to celebrate the bright future of the Francophonie in Canada. This exceptional year gives us a fantastic opportunity to open doors and build bridges between the various Francophone communities that are at the heart of our history and our future.
