Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese communities in Canada and around the world will celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival today
OTTAWA, Sept. 23, 2018 /CNW/ - Tonight, members of Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese communities in Canada and around the world will celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, also called the Moon Festival.
Families and friends gather during the Mid-Autumn Festival to give thanks, share prayers and enjoy a meal together.
Let us all take this opportunity to recognize the Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese communities for their tremendous contributions to making Canada a welcoming, inclusive and prosperous country. Diversity is one of Canada's greatest strengths, and we all benefit from our country's pluralism and spirit of openness. On this occasion, I invite all Canadians to celebrate the many things that make our communities so dynamic and unique.
As Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, I wish everyone observing the Mid-Autumn Festival a happy and bright celebration.
