LONDON, Sept. 9, 2012 /CNW/ - On behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Government of Canada, I would like to offer my most heartfelt congratulations to Benoît Huot, who was today named Canada's flag-bearer for the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Summer Games. This announcement was made by the Canadian Paralympic Committee today in London, England.
Benoît's outstanding performance in swimming, resulting in three medals—a gold, silver and bronze—has inspired Canadians across the country. Benoît truly is a Super Athlete: determined, relentless, and tough. I look forward to cheering him on, along with the entire Canadian Paralympic Team, as he proudly carries the Canadian flag into the closing ceremony of the Games.
It has been an exciting journey for our Canadian Paralympic Team so far, and I am honoured to have been here in London to see many of their incredible performances. I encourage all Canadians to join me in cheering on our Canadian Paralympic Team in this final day of competition.
