Statement by the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, on the Occasion of the 2013 Trille Or Awards Français
OTTAWA, March 21, 2013 /CNW/ - The Trille Or Awards pay tribute to the artists and music industry professionals who contribute to the growth and development of music in Francophone communities in Ontario and Western Canada. The awards gala, which is taking place for the seventh time, highlights the importance of music and song in our society by honouring artists for their passion in music, as well as the significant contributions they make to the French language and culture.
Our Government recognizes that the music industry in Canada is an integral part of our country's cultural landscape. We are proud to support our Francophone artists, who help showcase our culture at home and abroad.
On behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Government of Canada, I congratulate this year's nominees and winners. I would also like to commend the members of the Association des professionnels de la chanson et de la musique on their dedication to the Canadian Francophonie.
