Statement from the President and CEO of the MHCC on the International Day of La Francophonie Français
OTTAWA, March 20, 2018 /CNW/ - Today is International Day of La Francophonie, and the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) is pleased to extend our warm wishes to those who are marking the occasion.
Canada's linguistic duality enriches our heritage. We are blessed to live in a country where la Francophonie is recognized and supported. However, it must be acknowledged that francophone communities living in minority situations face many daily challenges. It is important to work collaboratively to improve services in these communities.
The MHCC is exploring innovative solutions – like our e-mental health research project and policy roundtable to expand public access to psychotherapies – to improve timely access to culturally appropriate treatments for Canadians, no matter where they live or the language they speak.
