MONTREAL, March 12, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - The Union of Canadian Correctional Officers (UCCO-SACC-CSN) has been informed that a civil lawsuit has been filed against Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) for allegations of workplace harassement from managers and correctional officers of Edmonton Institution, in the Prairie region. Although UCCO-SACC-CSN will not make any further comment so as not to interfere with legal proceedings, as this case is now before the court, the union wants to clearly state that it firmly condemns all forms of harassment.
UCCO-SACC-CSN believes that prevention and education are the first steps towards eliminating workplace harassment and the union will continue it's work to promote a harassment free environment at all federal facilities, including the Edmonton Institution.
